The generic path
If your LMS isn’t listed
Hall accepts any source that can emit SCORM 1.2/2004 packages, xAPI statements, or IMS Common Cartridge bundles. The schema mapping is configurable per source, you don’t need to transform data before handing it to us.
Course content
SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, cmi5, IMS CC v1.3, plain video + documents. Uploaded through the admin import wizard or synced from an S3 bucket. Manifest hashes preserved for audit.
Learner records
CSV + JSON + xAPI statements all accepted. Field mappings live in a per-source YAML, your ColPort solutions engineer pairs with your data owner to lock it down.
Certificate history
Historical certificates imported as evidence entries. Each gets a new public verification URL on Hall while preserving the original issue date, issuer, and learner attribution.
Compliance rules
Your existing compliance matrix (roles × requirements × renewal periods) imports as a CSV. Hall validates that every active requirement has a content path before activation.
The four-week playbook
What happens, week by week
Every migration runs as a pilot-then-cutover. You never flip to Hall blind; we shadow your old LMS for two weeks before cut-over so anything missing surfaces before learners lose access.
Week 1. Discovery + export
Your LMS admin generates exports; your solutions engineer maps them. Hall tenant provisioned with your branding, allowed email domains, and SSO wired up.
Week 2. Pilot cohort
25-50 learners run in Hall alongside their old system. Every gap (missing module, wrong language, stale cert) surfaces + fixes happen in parallel.
Week 3. Full rollout, dual-run
All learners switch to Hall primary, old LMS stays read-only for reference. Compliance certificates re-issued with bridge evidence preserving historical dates.
Week 4. Decommission + audit trail lock
Old LMS archived + contract cancelled. Hall’s proof vault captures the final state of every historical record. Audit-trail frozen on day 30 for regulatory retention.

What procurement cares about
No gap in the audit trail
Every historical certificate + completion record re-issues on Hall with bridge evidence pointing to the original source. If an auditor asks 'prove Jan completed HACCP on 14 March 2024', the answer is instant.
Retention preserved
Hall honours your existing retention rules. If your old LMS retained 7 years, Hall inherits that clock, we don’t reset it.
DPIA support
We provide a DPIA template covering the migration itself (data minimisation, lawful basis for the transfer, retention alignment). Your DPO signs off once, not per-learner.
Encryption in transit
Bulk transfers use per-transfer SCP / signed S3 URLs. Nothing sits in an email attachment or an open bucket. Every migration project gets a time-boxed SCC.

On termination we export everything within 30 days + delete our copy. No hostage data, no export fees, no last-minute scramble.

Migration pricing
Migration is included in every Growth + Enterprise subscription. Starter customers pay a one-time €1,200 set-up fee for guided migration (waived if self-serve via the generic importer). Complex migrations (> 1,000 learners, multi- source consolidation) are scoped separately; typical range €5-15k.
